55 first-generation believers visit Kanyakumari for a faith tour and retreat

On 15 and 16 August 2026, to encourage the believing families of our mission fields in their faith, 55 first-generation believers from the Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai and Tirupattur districts were brought to Kanyakumari district. They visited churches founded by missionaries, the memorials of the martyr Devasahayam Pillai, the Arappally church associated with St. Thomas, and places of natural beauty.

On Sunday 16 August they joined the worship service at CSI Kottayadi Church, followed by a meditation retreat for believers. For these young believers it was a unique experience that helped them take deeper root in their faith. Seeing the growth that came to Kanyakumari through Christians, they resolved to pray for the same growth in their own villages.

With thanks

• Rev. S. Benin Samuel, Executive Director, UCMSI, who arranged the tour
• Rev. C. Jeevajeya Kingsly, pastor of CSI Kottayadi Church, the church secretary and committee, for the worship, retreat, gifts and meals
• Mrs. Shanthi and her team, for the cultural programme at the retreat
• Mr. Jeyachandran, owner of Jaisas Paradise, Kanyakumari, and diocesan council member from CSI Kunnangadu, who gave his resort for both nights at a very low cost

Please pray that these believers stay firm in faith and that our mission fields see great growth through them.
